Nope, never sold nor bought links.

    It's an automotive forum.

Totally weird for a forum like that to go down like that!!

Well maybe this will be a weird update and it will bounce back!! Hopefully!!

I haven't seen any more movement so hopefully the Google Devistation is over and hopefully we can see some Positive results now!!!!

Google at this point is unstable...

Google isn't going to update soon. They want to be sure they can kill sellers and buyers as much as possible...

this is really hurting people who make a living on the internet. Google is only thinking of themselves and not thinking that the internet community as a whole made them into a multi-billion dollar company. So what if people want to sell links its just helping the economy. We are not out selling drugs or guns.

Agreed, 100%... It's more fun when people get to brag about how high their PR went

I went to digpagerank.com and checked out the PR's of the directories it has above where you enter your URL.....almost all of them are showing changes.

My blog is going from a PR5 to PR3... this totally sucks. All my other sites remain the same.

In the past, pr would drop right before the pr update. I would continue to hold out hope that your pr will increase.

Also, pr has probably been re-calibrated. So achieving each level of pr is probably going to get harder. The good thing is that such a measure would affect all sites.

It didn't seem to have any effect on 3 other forums i run.
The one with PR4 has only 4 backlinks in google while the one that dropped from 4 to 2 has 10 backlinks.
The niche of the PR4 forum isn't very common and it only has outgoing links on a linkpage and some in topics.
Maybe that's what's causing the PR drop on my other forum since it has 10 outgoing links in the footer on the homepage?

You don't have those in topic links set for nofollow?

I don't think this is the pr update. I think this is the typical pre - pr update regression that normally occurs.

It does on the one that dropped, not on the one that didn't change.

    Go figure...

Maybe this is a good sign that your pr will be going up. From what I have seen in the past, pr drops right before it goes up. It's kinda the same issue as with the serps. I'll drop from number 8 to non existent only to come back at number 5.

I think this is not a full update, but only a manual update for some sites selling links... none of my sites changed, even new ones that got hundreds of backlinks are still PR N/A.

I hope so, it's strange that it dropped from 4 to 3 to 2 in a short time.

If that's the case, i'd like to know if the person(s) who dropped my site has some problems with me since i don't sell or buy links.
Although it's just Pr, it's fun to know that my local forum had the same PR as a bigger and more popular national forum :D
I'll just sit back and watch how everything goes :)
Maybe Google will give us a present for christmas :D

993ti, I visited your forum. At the bottom of your site, you have got this text

    "Partner sites"

You have also got a no. of outbound links. Even though they may be to your own sites. It will still look like link selling to Google.

I know people who earn money only by selling pr links. If google going to penalise them, and that people will end on street beacuse of it,did google consider about that impact to individual economy? In any case, google never gived relevant results no matter which keyword. In most cases if you want to found good site then you need to use something else and not google. So i realy dont see how that policy will change anything.
