Google's 2007 Q4 PageRank (PR) Update - 10/13/07

even this thread dropped its PR. the first page used to be PR2

 

One of my sites dropped from PR4 to PR2 today. Didn't lose any important backlinks or such...

 

I have tested many datacenters and have not seen a page rank change. Im interested, those sites that have not changed page rank, what is the geographic location of that site? Im just wondering whether geographic locatin has anything to do with it untill the complete pr process has completely finished.

 

mys ite still stay at PR3, but i didnt do much promotion or getting more backlinks though. seem like google really do something with those high PR sites that sell links. they might not do anything with low and mid PR sites yet but who knows.

 

I think they are removing the backlink count on buy link directory.

 

Mine was born with pr4 and it will never increase or lose till I lose my head and throw the server through the window - right in StratFord Rd, Bham

 

How many others are seeing sites go down, but none go up?

Today was my first PR drop

 

My directory first dropped to PR6 from PR7, and then PR4 from PR6. Can't figure out what's going on at all

 

I am seeing lots of downgrades with my sites as well, though they are milder than what I expected.

 

The search engines love to keep us all guessing.

 

Notice that....some dc's are at a PR 6 while others at a 4.

 

One of my major directories has had a nice drop in PR - was PR6 to PR5 to PR4 - now it sits at PR3 - I had in the past placed links on other directories here through DP - other directories that I have not done this with are still same PR - Maybe a poison is going around??

 

Bang - another one of directories has been hit hard - PR5 down to PR3 - The funny part now it is Number 1, under Australian search for the term web directory. PR down, rankings up - lol - shit I wish people that paid to list cared less about PR and more just about results. All my other non-directory sites have not experienced any PR change

 

One site updated, from PR4 to PR3. Can anyone back up this selling links / penalisation theory or is this just speculation?

Google wrath on directories isn't over yet. iwebtool has PR4 , now

If you have backlink in a web dir that sell links , you have to remove it fast

You should think this.. but i am located in NL.

 

There is no PR export for Toolbar, only for Webmaster Tools. Here is why:

Check any new sites that was made after previous export (last 4.5 months) - and they all still don't have Page Rank in Toolbar.

But if you check them in Webmaster Tools you can find that it's incorrect information and some pages have PR.
