    I love this, every PR update time there's about 20 false alarm "PR update" threads and within seconds there's 100's of people viewing the thread.

    May be you are correct--
    My new site with 5 PR6 and 7 PR5 backlinks has become PR0:( Google has discounted all of them.

    Usually once the PR starts, the PR goes down to 0 for some sites, but it comes back up eventually. I don't think you should worry too much...
