Matt did say he does not expect a full pr export for a few weeks. These partial tb updates may reflect algo modifications which they are testing/going live with. Who knows, this week they may be running pr reductions and next week may be pr increases. Only Google knows, and they certainly will do everything at their leisure - not ours.

I think Google is making so much on AdWords/AdSense that they just don't give a damn about their search engine anymore.

That's really sad! People have been waiting for months and at last they lose PR

I am not sure yet what's Google's strategy behind this PR "stinginess"

I have 10 websites none of My PR has changed. Does this mean it will remain constant till next update or did the update happen at all ?

There's something here that doesn't make sense to me..

I can see they might want to 'recalibrate the scale' so that PR5 (and all the other PR as well) is now harder to get than before etc

But a full PR recalculation is not being exported at the moment, or someone would show an increase, or a decrease of more than 1. So I think we can be confident this is not the PR export everyone has been waiting for, but a simple resetting of the scale.

But why would they bother to export those results to the toolbar without recalculating PR at the same time if it's just a rejigging of the numbers from the last PR export, 6 months ago?

I invite you all, who lost PR in this update, to tell if your SERPs changed also.

My SERPS are better than ever, but as we know if there is a link between SERPS and PR it with google internal PR not with the (much later) export to the toolbar.

So any change in SERPS due to changes in links will have happened some time ago, not at the time of the PR export.

    Hypothesis:
PR, as an independent factor, affects SERPs.

    Necessary observation:
PR changes (in behind) --> this affects (if it does...) SERPs, soon after PR change ----> then PR toolbar update export happens soon (true for this update only). At the time you noticed PR change, SERPs has had (if it has had) probably changed already.

    Conclusion:
If you knew your SERPs before and after PR change, and you were not getting any new backlinks (and nothing major changed on your site) in meantime, you can safely say, that PR as the sole factor affects SERPs.

other than the drop in the PR values, is someone seeing a significant improvement in the toolbar PR as well for their sites? by significant here, I mean a positive increment of more than 2 :)
