Google's 2007-Q3/Q4 PageRank (PR) Update

I'm scared, why so late? let's hope not a lot of site's drop PRs dramatically...

 

nothing is there called PR update for me.

 

no PR update on any of my websites! LOL i checked them all!!
anyways, looks like google has compeletely lost interest in it's pr! hopefully they update it, or just shut it down!

 

maybe they are changing a lot of things... making PR more strict. Nooo, that can't just eliminate it

 

Google is huge! i don't think they should run 3 months late due to some algo change or whatever it is. If they had the interest in there PR they would have taken it more seriously! They just think that PR is helping the link sales and that's why they are not updating it!

Also i have seen some of my blogspot blogs got PR in the last 2-3 months!! but non of my websites had any PR change! just wondering what google is UP to!

Yesterday morning ( 3 oct ) my tinnitus site still shows PR4 as it has been since january this year. Late last night it droppen to PR3 so this means activity on data centers somwehre.

 

Google are continuosly trying to crack down on paid links. I've just noticed that a PR7 site has just been changed to a PR6 with the last 2 days. This site was selling text links though! I presume google are really cracking down on this now!

 

No, pagerank is not about traffic. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PageRank for a good explanation.
Google will either update the pagerank soon, or they will just remove it from being public, but they will definitely keep using it in their algos.
The only flaw of the pagerank it's that it can be abused by paid and reciprocal links. While reciprocals are easy to detect, paid links are a problem. And Google probably delays this update because of this. They are testing methods to automatically detect paid links.

I agree. Fluctuating PR is a sign that an algorithm update is iminant.
