I run some old domains and I didn't notice this.

I run some big content sites and I didn't notice this.

    Sorry man. :)

What's the source of this data?

    Hi, there! :)

I'm just new here, and my site's still been in construction using Joomla and WordPress, sounds a little ridiculous, hum?~

Otherwise, I've paid more attention to this PR update either.

Just rise up to say Hi~:D

    Alright, take care~~

I wouldn't call using the #9 Alexa site as a metric valid for this though.

    Check out cartoonnetwork.com:

    istockphoto.com (until Tuesday, anyways):

and about.com, which the article mentions (again, might have recovered in Tuesday's algo shift):

So def some sites were affected.

I know for a fact that it is taking more PageRank just to stay out of the supplemental index than it used to, and more than it should.

Nothing really new about this, is there? Didn't we go through all this - or something very similar - during the Big Daddy series?

Only some of the larger sites were effected by the August 3, 2007 update

Answers.com had released a press release that overall traffic was currently down approximately 28% from levels immediately prior to the change.

Google is now 'hiding' Supplemental pages. But I think this trick still works site:www.avivadirectory.com/* It appears that avivadirectory.com has 72 pages not supplemental. When you compare it to the site:www.avivadirectory.com results there are 1,540 pages found or almost 1400 pages supplemental. That's a lot of lost pr.

Yes indeed. And it makes the claim that these penalized directories have "come back" somewhat weak.

Doesnt the google pr update take weeks due to the billions of sites it has to fish through?

Got a point. Everyone should not worry about it :p

Pr updates have been longer and longer inbetween havent they? Didnt they happen like 5-10 times a year a while back? I swear they do it once or so a year now.

Either I wasn't doing it right when I checked my blog for supplementals or it doesn't seem to make a difference with my SERP. It seemed every page on my blog was indexed as a supplemental except for my home page, yet my keywords still ranked well for these pages and they still showed up on the first page of search results. I don't get it.

I did however appreciate the massive SERP hike my site recently got a few days ago. :D

I think the google toolbar PR is going in steps. For example there are some sites that have previosly been PR6 and they are now PR5 and similar, while others are same though if you track them you'll notice they should be lower PR.

Ah... perhaps it wasn't "large content sites" that were affected. Perhaps it was "large spammy sites with mostly duplicate content and ads." :D
