Google's 2007-Q3/Q4 PageRank (PR) Update

Well is too soon to see any changes (today is September 13).
However, I've noticed 2 big jumps on my traffic from Google:
- On August/27 (from 20,000 visitors/day to 28,000 visitors/day)
- On September/7 (from 28,000 visitors/day to 36,000 visitors/day)

 

Your algo updates are called daily fluctuations.

 

I had a pretty good SERP jump either today or last night.

What evidence do you have that a small algo change is happening right now? My opinion is that the Google nerds have been making small algo changes several times a week to test out their shiny new algorithm, and that we only notice the ones that make a significant difference to a sector of the webmaster industry. JMO, though - no one really knows what the he!! Google is doing.

The waiting sure is fun, though!

Appears there aren't many car enthusiasts who love their car, on this thread , I myself wash my motor as frequently as possible, and when it needs it period.

pr update would be nice now. it would be nice to see how close the prediction programs actually are.

see... my server went down 4 days ago due to some payment problems with my bank and stuff.. i have over 30 pr6 sites, 1 pr7 and like.. 4,000 sites pr0 - pr5, ahhhh what if they all drop by a few or something, since there is no site there.. see when i looked at the cached versions of the major ones they didnt display anything... going to be tonnes of work now to get them back to a high level of traffic and stuff

They (google) might not update PR anymore.

 

I started a thread about a possible algorithim change today affecting google search position and its merged into a pr thread.

What does a pr thread have to do with an algorithm update?

I got an infraction too for starting a duplicate thread, as well as, getting moved to the pr thread. Oh well, you win some and you lose some.

Are the directories banned or penalized?
What is banning and what is penalization?

Are you sure they have been banned for selling links? Any proof for that? I reckon -if Matt Cutts and his SPAM team visits market places on webmasters forums like DP/SP/V7N - then they would bann hundreds of thousands of sites which are not directory as those sites sell links.
Matt Cutts has also categorically stated that- no sites will be punished for buying/selling links. They will just loose the power to pass on LINKSJUICE.

Is it wise to say anything just on speculation? I believe it does not show one in bright light.
I also believe one should be careful about posting truth -not rumors.

Truth is those directories are PENALIZED - not - BANNED.
BANNED= totally out of Google index.
Penalization = Indexed but huge drop in SERPs and not even rank for Brand name/site title inside top 50.

So is this mean if i submit my site to 1000 free directories with option for paid upgrade it will not worth anything ?

 

O.K. Sites like Text-Link-Ads.com and Aviva directory are penalized. You can't find them listed by searching on their own name.

Anyway, anyone notice any serp changes today?

 

the serps are changing a lot lately, 1 day im 1 , then 3 then 2...its very inconsistent. Google should let a site place in hold for at least a week and not change daily, PR is coming very soon. I just hope the rumor of ENDING PR is not true

 

Intresting,you cant see them if you type text link ads in keywords,yet again you can see them in adwords.Which proves google hypocracy.
