Google's 2007-Q3/Q4 PageRank (PR) Update

actually i need this pr update,when i ask other pages for link exchange,lots of them dont care because i have pr1!So thats why it is important for me...

 

exactly, who wants to exchange links with a lower ranked page? who wants to buy a link on a low ranked page? of course traffic is the bottom line, but pagerank is what gets you the traffic from google. higher a page is ranked the more likely it will be #1 in results. of course there are other algos that are involved, but if you know how to write an article and fill it full of the words google likes that along with the high pr will do wonders. that along with no pr and you be some obscure 400th page or something.

It looks like something big is in the works. Something that could cause an upheaval. Over the last three months there have been three algo updates

July 5 - more weight on domain age and increased value of Reciprocal linnks
Rollback (not certain of exact date)
August 30 - devaluation of some directories

I would estimate the end of September or early October. Otherwise it gets to close to Christmas.

 

True, but what good is it doing google. If you ask me, its hurting. I see sites indexed as number one which haven't updated in three months. You tell me why a website with limited information and few updates gets to abuse their traffic, sending it to junk spyware redirects. Google needs to do something soon, whether it be remove PR or not. Simply changing the index would be a massive improvement. Im all for a new algo, if it means less frontpage garbage.

I dont know if you guys noticed but Matt cutts said in another thread that there wont be any PR for next couple of weeks.

It seems it will be by end of October.

 

Wholy crap, its been forever since google has updated PR - Ive checked some history lists of when the updates have been in the past and this time around its been a doozy, if this info is correct on average PR is exported to the toolbar about once every 3 months. It has been almost 5 months

Is this list for real indication of when the PR updates have been or is it just bull?

Yeah. How useful is it if it isn't updated.

Also how would you be able to sell high PR links if there is no PR and we all no that Google is on a crusade contra paid links.

Certainly times and events move on just the same applies with technology

 

It will take years for the pr threads to stop.

 

Everybody knows,it's posted couple of pages back.Still,Matt is probably waiting for his update too,i guess he is pessimistic
