I suppose what you need to think is that the number of websites is always increase, hence the number of sites requiring PR information has also increased... potentially thats more information and data to process... hence why each PR update takes longer. Just a possibility!

The longest interval was 122 days - I think currently it is about 110 days...

Anyway, I think they won't export the PR any more and the next Google Toolbar will nt contain the pr bar any more.

Would google really do away with PageRank without letting anyone know? If they get rid of it at all I think it would just give yahoo a chance to sneak in and take back part of the market... just an opinion ...

I don't think so, pr value is just usefull for webmaster. Others don't care about it.

That's true - and the PR is something to determine the effect of a link from that page to the Google SERPs. Yahoo cannot offer something similar... anybody remembers Yahoo's "WebRank"?

I dont care about what will be my pagerank or so. I can guess it already. The reason why I want this update completed is that i want to have back my normal traffic rate in the way it was before the update begun.

The SERP positions are not consistent and seems inaccurate. Or volatile or what other word may suit here. The SERP positions and the traffic rate is NOT nomral and I hate it.

I hope it'll all be okay.

I agree, but this has nothing to do with a PR update. What Webmasters call "PR update" is just an export of the data which is already used by Google to calculate the SERPs.

I think there's a algo change going on which causes a lot of changes in the SERPs.

I have heard that there is an algo change. OK fine. But just before the previous PR update a few months ago, there were also a lot of chages in SERP positions. Without an algo change, SERP positions can still be volatile during a PR update, if I am not mistaken..

This is giving me a brain hemorrhage. I too agree that there might be some algo change... just my 2 cents

But if, after this alleged algo change, google does what it says and brings those crappy low-quality sites down then I will be the king and goole will be my queen.. *Giggity giggity goo* (Glenn Quagmire effect)

Could they be trying to bring the SERPS more in line with the PRs of the sites? You know what I mean...they might be stopping the low PRs, such as mine.... from moving forward in the SERPS by dint of SEO.
I have seen heavily SEO'd PR 0 sites on page one in the SERPS. This probably is not what they want. I wish they would get it moving so at least we would know the damage...We webmasters are not the favs of the Google guys. They never liked how we used to be able to get to page one with SEO. If PR means anything, it should correlate to the SERPS. JMHO... and what do I know....NOTHING !!!!:D

Getting to the top by heavy SEO is very stupid. Anyone can do it. I hope SEO loses its importance over quality and fresh content..

    That's better thanks. :D

It was very hard to browse down the list of PR values and spot changes when they were not lined up.

    Much better.

On another note, i've uninstalled my Google toolbar as it now seems pretty pointless to feed Google data when all i use it for is link: and cache: a few times a day at most.

If they ever complete this export i'll think about re-installing it, however for now they have lost me.

Is this the longest thread in the history of all forums? Is there another thread with more posts than this one?

I bet that we're going to reach 10000 posts without any pr updadate.

I actually un-installed the toolbar months ago on my everday computer and only check PR from a different computer so they can't profile me as much!!

I don't know if I am doing any good but it makes sense for me to do this as long as I have 2 computers!
