Google's 2007-Q3/Q4 PageRank (PR) Update

I wish there was, especially for those crappy sites that have so obviously been converted from expired domains.

Nearly every other sale at sitepoint is some moron selling his/her "PR5 Link Directory!" - davesmith.com web directory or seattletearooms web directory or jeffhammond link directory and so on ad naseum.

I made a post about it on there somewhere.

I actually bought one myself and deliberately reverted it to it's former purpose, before it was converted to phplinkdirectory, which made it a much more interesting site.

 

I have said it again and again ,it is very difficult to detect paid links.

Thats for sure.It is simply a rumor spread by Google to prevent us from buying links. that's it.

They do n't have the technology or brain to detect paid links.

In other words ,detecting paid links in equal to a man landing on another planet like Mars

stop talking about pr update it will happen when it has to happen and we all are going in hit and trial method that google is doing this or that.

 

Who will notice if you buy a relevent link in a similar web site ?

 

Exactly, as long as its not obvious its paid by having 'sponsors' or similar above the link, there is no way they can tell for sure.

 

One way google can do it is by looking for links to non related sites which are close to the words "Sponsored links" or similar... that would definately be a paid link.

 

Most people are marking "Sponsored Links" with a graphic, not text.

 

Why do you care. I think this is a great thread! Right now you can post and discuss almost whatever you want. And I think smalltalks are just what we need on DP.

Yah, I think the need to know when PR Update has subsided... now it's just a freerange chat - Maybe we should just change the thread topic to - Discuss whatever is on your mind I bet we could get this thread up to 250 pages before the actual PR Update hits, heheh
