    I just asked my magic 8ball (no, seriously, I really did):

    "Will PR be updated in July 2007"

    The answer:

    "Signs point to yes"

    I then asked:

    "Will PR be updated in the 2nd week of July 2007?"

    The answer:

    "Yes, definately"

    So there you have it. PR will definately be updated next week. The 8ball never lies. :D

    i think google took the snapshot this week. thats if the updates are in sync with the last ones.

    it took the last snapshot at the start of april, and before that the start of January.

    So if its in sync, it will have been this week.

    Why not just save time and forward your site URLs directly to the Google paid links spam report? :rolleyes:

    Updates history, maybe. "Forecast" or "prediction"? Not at all. It's a pointless exercise trying to predict Google updates.

    The Google guessing game is quite entertaining!

    Ask a question about the timing of link purchases and you get quite a variety of opinions. It's not clear to me that anyone outside of Google really knows what goes into the Google stew pot that determines the pagerank of sites. But, I agree that Google has the resources to alter results somewhat by detecting paid links vs organic links. And I agree the best way to insure lasting pagerank is to offer enough content value to drive traffic and encourage organic backlinks.

    As for the threads initial question I think the answer depends in large part on whether the link is permanent, annual or monthly. I prefer permanent links alongside relevant links and or content AND links that might add some credibility. As for the timing, I don't pay any attention to timing a Google PR update. I pay attention to my budget.... If it makes sense "just do it".

    I've seen a couple of sites that 2 weeks ago had no pr , now those site have pr2, 3 , and another one had pr5 now has pr4 :|

    Based off the last update I would expect another one anytime from the 14th of July - 2nd week of August. Google does not do it exactly at 90 days, sometimes its 70 days and the longest one since 2006 was 110 days
