GoogleRanking vs. what I see when I use Google myself

Hi all, any help with this question would be much appreciated, as I am new to SEO. I have used GoogleRankings to view Keywords for my company's sites, but when I google the keywords in Google, I get different results, either higher or lower, than what GoogleRankings reports. Any explanation for this? My boss is the type to go crazy if I tell her we are ranked 22, and then she googles us and see we are lower. Thanks, and sorry if this is a topic already discussed, I couldnt find it when I looked though the site.

I'm not familar with GoogleRankings but my best guess is that it's too do with geographics. Are you based in the UK? It's possible that GoogleRankings is using google.com and you are using .co.uk - which will throw up a different set of results. Check the location/region settings if there are any.

A better idea would be to use the DP keyword tracker which will do the job perfectly for you for free. http://www.digialpoint.com/tools/keywords

It's just because different results are generated from different datacenters.
