    There's quite a difference between "I agree with glengara that Google has been more aggressive with bad neighborhood penalties." and
    "Personally (this really doesn't have anything to do with the ad network BTW), I'm starting to think the "bad neighborhood" thing is bunk."

    Anything in particular change your mind on this , DP?

    Glengara,

    Why do you spend so much time worrying about the coop?

    Who are you and why do you care?

    You post anonymously. Some of your points are valid and should be discussed but you’re discounted because you hide in the shadows.

    Take a stand - I'd like to hear more debate.

    Who knows... {shrug} I think there can be bad neighborhoods, but I doubt it's automatically applied programatically. I still think the bad neighborhood thing is blown out of proportion... I still believe everything from this post:

    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?p=91244#post91244

    If Google can't define what a bad neighborhood is, there is no way to check if a site is a bad neighborhood and Google chooses to link to millions of sites on the web (via the Google directory... which I'm sure there are hundreds, if not thousands of "bad neighborhoods" in there) that it has no control over the links, I'm not going to waste my time trying to read between the lines and decipher what Google personally thinks is a bad neighborhood.

    I think Google just wants people to use common sense... don't link to sites doing blatantly bad things (cloaking, hidden links, etc.) Which of course in itself should go without saying to begin with.

    Be fair Classifieds, you can hardly accuse me of sitting on the fence ;-)

    Nothing to do with the COOP, just interested in what seems to have made DP change his mind on the BN thing...

    <added after reading DP's post>
    OK DP, just thought you might have come across something significant to alter your views...
