GoogleCheckout - A Great Processor??

    Hey everyone,

I've had some real issues with Paypal over the past few months, haven't lost any money with them (yet) but it seems that time is coming. I have a GoogleCheckout account I used to use as my main processor back in 2007 & 2008, I'm thinking of switching back to them as my main processor, do you think it's a good idea, is GoogleCheckout still a good, widely used processor??

Thanks in advance for all advice :)

they are good, but most of the people use paypal, that's the fact, and if you want to earn money, better use paypal, everyone will send you money via paypal

GCO is very good in processing credit card payment, they seem to have gret tool to determine if the card used is fraud or not. Not all people have/can use paypal so GCO is great alternative.

I can't say I've had any problems with Paypal, but reading all the horror stories certainly does make me a little bit cautious. Then again Google are equally as vicious when it comes to being trigger happy and canceling you if you're doing something they don't like. Think about all the adwords people that lost their accounts... All the affiliates that can't promote on adwords anymore despite Google themselves having their own affiliate network...

Your best bet is to get your own Authorize.net gateway and merchant account if you can.

I think we've all had problems with paypal at one time or another - sometimes they have driven me crazy but they're still the no 1 payment processor, used by most IM marketers. That said I believe it's good to offer an alternative as many people have had accounts closed or just don't like them. mr2monster has it right when he points out that google can shut down accounts just as easy.

Google Checkout is only available for merchants in the USA and UK, so many people won't be able to use this for a payment processor.

That is true, it's availability can make it tough to use, but it's just better than pp in so many ways.

I agree with mr2monster, best way to go is get your own Authorize.net processor or equivalent, until then I'm goin with GoogleCheckout & Moneybookers or Neteller as plan B :)

Paypal monitors your daily activity selling ,buying if they find any suspicious(offcourse they do) they will limit your acccount
Resolving them will be almost impossible in many cases

I don't want to jinx myself. But PayPal has finally started getting their stuff together.
I preferred the old days back when eBay first started gaining popularity.
At one point in time (2007-2008) PayPal would block/close any account for any reason with no justification.
    It was awful.

Google checkout can be used for only merchants in USA and UK so you cannot use this as a payement processor and for payement processor,Paypal is the best to use.

Google Checkout is very good, but not good for people outside US & UK. If they did it worldwide or at least some main countries then I will throw away PayPal.

I do business only in US. But I don't know the main differences between Paypal and Google Checkout? Is there any advantages for using Google over Paypal at all?

I have had a bas experience myself with Google Checkout, I purchased something on the net using GCO and never received my product, I have open a complain with GCO and their answers was in some ways: get yourself sorted, go to your bank and ask them to charge back, as the product cost me $15 and a charge back on my CC cost $25.... I simply lost $15 and Google check just didn't care about it
