    You don't need to placed this tag <meta name="googlebot" content="index, follow"> on your site for it'll automatically be indexed and followed by bots.

    It won't change a thing - search engines will index and follow links unless
    told not to. Sometimes you may not want a page not to be indexed or have
    it's links followed in which case
    <meta name="robots" content="noindex, nofollow">
    <meta name="robots" content="noindex">
    <meta name="robots" content="nofollow">
    would be useful - or you can accomplish the same thing with a robots.txt
    file.

    You only need to use the robots meta tag if you DON'T want search engines to index or follow the links on a page. Since their default behavior is to both index and follow you don't need to tell them if that is what you want to do.
