    Hello,

When did the Googlebot last visited your website ?

    I heard that -

    1. Googlebot visits websites on the first week of every month, OR

    2. Googlebot visits websites every 3 months.

    Which is correct ?

Also when did the Googlebot last visited your website ?

    Tnx...

It depends on the update frequency of your website that decides how often googlebot visits your website. If you want to check when googlebot last visited, you can use google webmaster tools.

    I hope this helps!

    Cheers.

Googlebot visits each site on a different schedule according to how often it perceives the importance of the site and frequency of updates.

It depends on your Google PageRank

For example PR0 will be visited by google bot alot less than PR5+

if you are looking to increase your PR you can apply at my site if your site has PR3 or higher

Not really true, Pagerank is a snapshot of anything up to 3 months ago.

I have a PR0 site that gets hit by Googlebot more times, consuming more bandwidth and for longer durations & frequency then other PR4 and 5 sites i have.

I havn't seen this discussed before, but that's my Pagerank prediction tool. I've been doing SEO for that long and built that many sites of varying Pageranks, i can guestimate what the Pagerank of my sites will be going off Googlebots activity. Also with a mix of other things like home & subpage cache update frequency, time taken to spider a new page etc.

It's kind of like a 6th sense, but it's way more accurate then any tool i've ever seen.

Tnx all for your very informative posts.

But my problem is the following :

I have just a new domain parked at NetFirms. I want to put up a one-page website there and then bring the Googlebot in there.

    1. What will I have to do ? Do I have to submit the domain to Google ? Whats the link ? After I submit my domain to Google, when will the Googlebot come in ?

    2. After the Googlebot comes in, "when" can I see my PR ? (Obviously it would be PR = 0, as I have not done any SEO yet.)

    Tnx in advance.

I never submit to any search engines, simply get as many backlinks to it and the bots will find it. As for pagerank, you pretty much missed the boat this time around... so in around 3 months you will see PR.

You mean that Google has updated it's PR very recently ? And the next update time is three months later ?

And ... as I am not going to SEO (i.e. no backlinks) my one-page website soon, so I have to submit my domain to Google to have the Googlebot visit my one-page site ?

Google is just about to update PR, however it's a bit late to gain PR in this update.

You really need to get some backlinks, otherwise there's no point worrying about submitting it to Google or being included in the index.

So if Googlebot visits my one-page site now, then it would show up after three months ?

Yes I know. But without having SEO or any backlinks, I have to submit my one-page site to Google to have the Googlebot to come to my site ?

It definitely varies for different sites. Obviously if you have more backlinks the robot will visit your site more often. Although most people say adding the robots metatag is useless, I do it for my sites and they aren't any harm any way.

I don't have any time & money for SEO and backlinks - yet I need Googlebot to visit my 1-page website. To do so, submitting my 1-page website to Google is the only way to bring in the Googlebot ?
