I noticed that GoogleBot Has Been on New Link Directory Website Non-Stop for Many Days Straight without leaving...

The Directory has nearly 2,000 categories, but GoogleBot is able to crawl sites fast.

Why is GoogleBot staying on my directory so long...?

    - Is GoogleBot to staying on my site and monitor it for updates constently?

    - Has anyone else noticed GoogleBot on your site for many days without leaving?

You're adding a lot of new stuff to your site?
If yes that's probably the reason. When the spider visits your site it leaves, then comes back, on its second visit if it does not find anything new it will take a while for it to return... but if it finds something new it will check again.

Best example is Yahoo Answer, site is constantly updated so spiders are there almost all the time, when YA didn't use nofollow tag you could index your website within hours just by putting a link on YA and spiders will see it instantly!

It's a good sign to have spiders on your site often.

It started crawling my site when it was an empty directory, and crawled it for 2 days like that... lol
It's been 4 days and it still has not left.. Yahoo Bot and the Bing bot both stop by, but they only stay for a few minutes.

In 10 years of designing website and doing SEO work, i've never had GoogleBot Park on one of my sites and constantly monitor it..

My New Link Directory is TOP OF GOOGLE and taking off fast, so i'm sure it will not be leaving for a while now:rolleyes:

Sounds like you must have built some strong backlinks already.

Yes, but only a few backlinks in the right places.... Not many at all!! I wanted to see how well it would do for minimal external SEO work. I spent: Well over 20 hours of doing internal SEO work. It takes dedication:rolleyes:

Check Google webmaster tools account to see any data there that can shed some light :) Crawling information etc. Honestly I also doubt whether you're correct in saying what you're saying I mean how do you know the bot is on your website?

It was on my site for about a week.. I installed a new plugin, cleared the site cache, then it left.

Now it seems to be coming and going, but it is there most of the time
