Googlebot "Double-Taps" in Stats

In my webstats, I'm seeing the googlebot showing up as what I might describe as double-taps. Twice, back to back, about 20 seconds apart.

In the past years, I recall just one reference or pageview showing up for googlebot, as with most other visitors.

The bot has been very active on my site the past couple of days, and virtually every time I can find it, there are two visits next to one another, less than a half minute apart.

    Ideas?

I'm not really seeing triples, nor singles the past couple of days. Just in pairs, like in the attachment. Z_googlebot.jpg

Most of the page most important to me have generally done well, and slightly better beginning a couple of months ago.

So I see no problems at all. But am curious why each bot check for each page is a quick repeater rather than just showing one time like always before.

I have not added any special in codes either, that should cause any problem for data to load.
