Googlebot Crawl Speed issue?

The company that I work for have a website (lifeismusic.co.uk) currently I think we are on a page rank of four. However when we do a "site:" search on Google we have 1,750 results in the UK. We have over 4000 products on the site each with an individual URL.

One of our competitors (dolphinmusic.co.uk) has over 32,500 results.

Somebody did suggest that we have a slow crawl rate and this could be affecting us being found on Google.

Is there any way I can check this? Or can anybody advise me if this is correct?

You should check your competitor position using few tools such as Webpageanalyzer, websitegrader this can give you some idea to optimize your website effectively.

I don't think altering the crawl rate will help you get better over your competitor. Get more quality backlinks and advertise your company in a more effective manner :)

Crawl rate might not be that important unless you are complaining about creating web pages and they do not get indexed. Links are going to tell which websites stand higher than the other competitors.
