Hello everyone. I am currently working on a website (GoogleAdvisor.org) designed to provide free information about Google to webmasters. I want to provide useful information regarding Google - such as how to increase your PageRank, do better with Adsense, etc. I am really looking for feedback here or site ideas. The site will never be finished, but it's always good to get input along the way. Thanks!

    here's the url: http://www.googleadvisor.org

Well first of all, if Google ever does not like your site (or if they just want to take it regardless), they will be able to take your domain from you because of the trademark infringement.

Looks like a good resource- Very good!!

    Two things:
-googleinout.jpg is sort of confusing. it looks like you're trying to use google as an acronym or something. Plus the arrows don't line up with the words.

-The header is too white and boring. Maybe try some colors or graphics up there.

PLease hyperlink you url..it is annoying puting it in the bowser

Second, please use a .com address.

You're front page is very bland, and frankly boring. It looks worse then craig'slist. YOu need to add the nice fonts and backgrounds. Put some silver or something. The site just doesn't look professional. It looks like it was created over the weekend with 'websites for dummies' or something. The font is too small, and the purple/blue looks..bad. And like most google sites on these forums, it states stuff we already know. Add some good content. The whole site needs an overhaul. Hope this helps.

I agree with Shawn, you are just asking for trouble by using the word "google" in your site's url.

I honestly don't think it would be a problem unless he's competing w/ Google or being libel.

But, obviously I aint no lawyer!

Take a look at Wipo. It doesn't matter what you are going to do, it is a trademark violation.

    Yeah, I looked wipo.

Did you look at my post #7? Those sites rank ahead of many Google owned domains for a seach of "google" on Google.

Some of them even run ADSENSE!!!!!

OMG people if googel for some reason compains they wiull simply ask the site to change the name or whatever. Therewont be a lawsuit. Its stupid for google to sue some small site over the domain name.

I got sued by a certain German car maker because my domain name contained their name.. Got a cease and desist, and if I chose not to comply with it, they were determined to take it to court. The irony is that the site got 300K visits a month, and was there to promote the brand. I wasn't selling anything, only money that came in was from AdSense, but still they felt the need to "protect their brand". Left me with a bad taste in my mouth.
