Just thought i'd let you know that there will hopefully be a new feature for the google adsense block codes. google_hints will allow you to specify keywords so that the ads which appear on your webpages are targeted to these keywords. For example if you say google_hints = "mortgages, home loans"; The ads that you will get will be mortgage related. This will help you get ads which are more specific to your pages as sometimes you receive ads which are not related to your website content at all. Please note that this feature is in testing phase and only selected publishers are allowed to use this feature. Do not attempt to modify your adsense block to benefit from this feature just now as it is not yet publicly available. You can read more about it here: http://www.askdavetaylor.com/google_adsense_parameter_google_hints.html And you can see it in action here: http://ezinearticles.com/?When-It-C...Mortgages-Online-Is-The-Easiest-Way&id=900085
It is well known the Google Adsense allow some special codes to its premium publishers to earn better.
CMIW but the code its old, but i think its only for premium publisher. you have to ask google permission to use it
these were always allowed for premium publishers, and its great that "google_hints" comes to regular publishers but it may increase keyword scam though.
If they do so, it will be great for most webmasters, but it will increase keyword spamming/scamming too... For example someone may setup a site with nothing useful in its content ("Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet") and with some adsense ads using any keywords he wants.
Wouldn't this complete negate the fact that they do a great job of crawling your page and targeting your ads for you. This just seems like more work added to the mix where they already do a fine job, unless you are wanting to try and target higher keywords that don't match your site. They won't allow that, especially after them putting the smack down on arbitrage.
I don't really see the necessity of such code...afterall, if you're legit, your content should be adequate. If your content is not enough, you may be in violation of the requirement that you not put adsense on contentless pages. I see way more possibility of abuse than helping people out.
