Google & Youtube - Anyone improved ??

Almost did not know where to post this, but since Youtube so often shows in Google search results, figured I'd lump this here.

Has anyone here ever tried to improve their video position in either Google, or Youtube search results? And did you make any progress from your efforts?

Do you feel that certain types of videos don't stand a chance to improvement?

What do you think of the pay to promote option in Youtube?

Do you think that the useful part of a Youtube description is longer than that of a website? And would Google effectively use the description of a Youtube video in the same basic fashion?

Regarding youtube, I used to promote my music website through youtube, with a link in the description bar, and one in the video.
What I can say is that it all depends on your title, how attractive it is.
IF that sounds okay, visitors will come.

I don't think so. Though i created few video's, I din't get much traffic from it.

If you work it right and make a ton of videos, you can get some pretty substantial traffic every day, pretty easy too.

    I agree with this...

Videos are loved by the bots and showing up for the titles created in the serps is very easy providing you dont try ranking for 2-3 words that have already been used at youtube as google seems to have a filter where Youtube is always #1 in the search results and i have only been able to reach 2nd place
for the same terms (though our site is only a few months old) so...

    thx
