Hi, Is there any benefits to getting a news article into google news or yahoo news from a seo point of view??? and if yes how do you get into them. Thanks
until about early last year i had several RSS feeds in yahoo blog news ( beta at that time - now no more ) and i got lots of traffic from those news inclusions. Y had normally a new RSS article online within less than an hr after pinging Y feed bot ! it is however much more difficult to get into G or Y news with your RSS feeds unless they really are official ( finance/politics/etc ) news coverage of high quality. to get into NEWS by means of regular various RSS directories ALWAYS is excellent and useful from SEO point of view no matter what news channel/directory you get into. benefits are 1. high PR one way backlinks directly related to your site since you have to submit into news-CHANNELS or categories 2. any page posted in an RSS feed will appear much faster in all major SE since you get your RSS into some 50+ news/RSS channels - they in turn are visited frequently by all major SE bots to find your articles with link to your site instantly
Its good for traffic, but not sure about SEO sorry. How to get news into Google news I believe you do this normally via a press release using a few PR sites.
You might get more links pointing back to your site when bloggers come across your news stories and post about them.
You can get your article into google news with some of the free press release sites like... www.pr.com www.prleap.com www.prurgent.com www.pr-inside.com
It won't boost your SEO in and of itself, but it will draw a lot of traffic, who may then blog about you and such to boost your seo.
