Google / Yahoo / MSN

I have optimized nearly all aspects of one of my sites for seo, including sitemaps, relevent tags, and the whole 9 yards. I was checking my stats and saw that google bot hit 126k pages while yahoo bot hit only 190 pages and MSN bot hit an astounding 13 pages. What's the deal? I have signed up for the site explorer thing and everything, is there something that I could be missing?

    Thanks in advance

Google bot and Yahoo!'s robot work in totally different way. there isn't any set standard for the robots to work. if you are doing well on Google then you must not worry about other search engines ;)

    Thanks kutekutta, will try that.

shailendra, I happen to disagree. By forgetting about the rest of the search engines because you're doing good in a single one shouldn't happen. If I get 200 hits a day from google, why would I not want to expand onto yahoo and other widely used se's.

my friend i agree with you, but please see the search engine market statistics of the world and compare the share of each one. Google is the overt leader. Moreover, Google is fast expanding and capturing the market leaving Yahoo! in a dilapidated state. My experience with SEO tells me that if i do it only for Google, it automatically gets done for other search engines and i have seen the results.

I agree with Shailendra. Most of the time, if your keywords rank on the big G, other search engines follow :) We all know that most of organic traffic are from googl, that's why I focus to it.
