Have you noticed that there are three main companies on the internet.

    Google
    Yahoo
    Microsoft

Is it just me or does everyone consider them the three main powers on the internet meaning that they make the most and the most well known?

Do you think there will be a 4th big company to rival those?

It depends on what you measure success as. Big companies can mean anything. Myspace.com is a big success- so is Digg.com.

Depends on what you mean by three main powers :)

Well i mean the ones who (nearly) everyone knows and who buy out other ones and come up with new idea's to make them bigger.

Myspace is only a social network and it probably will stay that way.

the CNN network is fairly huge. AOL is too. I don't really think there are too many others...seems like you want to know the conglomerates, not just any company. Myspace is its own company.

True, AOL, CNN, MySpace, even Wordpress.com are big companies. Google is probably the major one out all.

I don't know. This is difficult to compare these three companies. M$ is more software oriented. And on the other hand - Yahoo is far less international (global) than the other two...

Not to forget Godaddy here, too. It's quite big and I feel their annual financial figures are high enough. They are sharing the bigger part of the pie on the domains market which places them among the big I should say.

Any internet user notices that those three dominants control the market, especially Google. Therefore, search engines market goes down, because there is no alternative to existing online search technologies. We should unite against monopolists and create free and accessible Internet ourselves. www.omfica.org provides internet users with an opportunity to affect Internet's future development. That's what we need now.
