Google won't index more than my homepage...how come?

I've already submitted to about 200 or 300 directories, been approved my most of them.

MSN has indexed NOTHING on my site. Not a single page, nothing found for the URL.

Google has indexed only my home page.

Yahoo, however, seems to like me a lot and has indexed 60 pages so far.

What gives? I bought a brand new, never-been-used domain, no blackhat techinques, nothing.

How long has your site been live? How many backlinks is Yahoo showing for your domain? You may need to get more backlinks.

He said he already submitted his site to 200 or 300 directories (200 or 300, such a close number:rolleyes: ). The site is probably very new and it takes patience. Try running some G adsense on the site if you can and G Daddy will index your site.

For very new sites, Google will only index the home page, and that too will drop out for some time if the sandbox continues. Put some adsense ads on it and get more deep links to your pages. That should help for Google.

I'm having the same problem with google. I started my site about 7 days ago I now have 4 pages of my site on yahoo! which was shocking. Google will only index my index page :(. I have adsense on it and a google sitemap still no luck.

That's an amazing story with Yahoo. However, 7 days isn't very long at all in the SE world. It could take a year or more before Google starts taking an interest in your site. I know this isn't what you want to hear, but it's most likely true. Just work on building good content and let nature take its course!

Submitting your site and getting it listed is a different matter. He could have submitted to 300 directories but not all will accept the site. Even if they do most directories have a long waiting list due to the amount of people submitting so it may be some time before the backlinks actually go in the directory and then they have to be indexed
