Google will penalize new directory with no data long time?

If I launched my new Directory, but no one submit site to my directory for 2 month,my question is :Google will penalize that new directory becuase not quality content ?

If you have a directory for articles, than yes, you need fresh content ASAP. However, if you don't post anything in the first 2 months, you are not penalized by Google, you just lose precious time in ranking.

If you have a directory just for links/ URL than no problem, because you will make it in Google not from your site content but throe off site SEO.

Your following a path that thousands before you have traveled and it leads to failure. You don't want your directory to be crawled until it's well developed, brandable and marketable. When you have it finished you can plan and advertise a grand opening and open up with a chance to succeed.

 

Don't USE category dumps and manually add listing to empty categories writing original title and descriptions.

 

initially create minimum sub-categories and wait for listing, create new category when you get a listing for that

 

You will not be penalized, but just because you do not refresh your content your website will be lost on the search results.

 

Pretty much. Or you can start out with a good niche directory and later expand.

 

What is unique content on a directory?

- submissions where you rewrite the descriptions
- category descriptions that you have written or paid to have written
- listings that you add yourself with your own descriptions
- articles that you have written or paid to have written

Pretty much nothing different than on any other type of site. The words on the page should not match what any other site has.

As to being penalized for not updating in a while...you're not actually penalized. In reality sites that are updating will simply garner more love from Google and push your site down in the SERPs. While they're growing you're standing still sort of thing.

 

I used to believe that, and I'm not certain that you aren't right as it pertains to web directories, since there are so many useless ones taking up space on the Internet but, at least when it comes to regular websites, it seems that I do better when I can have it indexed while it's still very new and rather skimpy in content, adding content to it every day until it's complete. I haven't noticed that it helps me gain page rank any quicker (but neither have I seen that it hurts), but I do seem to do better in the SERPs that way, as it keeps the spiders interested over a longer period of time.

Most of my sites are in niche markets, but I've tried it both ways - waiting until I had a fully completed site before uploading and promoting it, and inviting the spiders in while it's in progress. Of course, neither do I begin with empty pages or under construction signs, so it doesn't necessarily look undone at any time. It just gets more complete as I go along.

I'm going to try something similar with a regional web directory, adding one state at a time, with additional content, and I think that will work, whereas having fifty states with only a few sites in each probably wouldn't.

 

Your new directory wont be penalized but it won't rank high either until there are listings and fresh content in most pages
