I just left a comment in your blog. lol.

It's not as good as what it looks like if it's only open to the US.

Yea I can't sign up for it myself since I'm from Canada but for US citizens, this is huge.

It would be good if they expand the program. It's a nice offer. I would love to hear if anyone actually makes any money off of this.

They will expand soon or later. This opens a new big opportunity, specially for countries that are smaller and are not USA (if google expands the opportunity of course).

It's a great idea, but how long can it last? I would guess most businesses would be covered in a few months, at most. I think I'll waste my energy doing other things.

You're right, it won't last long but if you sign up early, you can make an easy $1k in a weekend by visiting 100 businesses (that's like... 2 malls)

I don't think everyone can make money via this program. I heard somewhere that those reside outside of US - Non US citizen cannot participate in the program. Furthermore, Google will not accept every application they received.
How can you say "NOW EVERYONE CAN WORK FOR GOOGLE - BIG MONEY POTENTIAL". That's very misleading.

You could pay some teenager $10/hour to visit local businesses. Good summer job for them. Just post a classified ad in the job section of your local newspaper. Reward them with bonuses so they stay motivated.

Leverage other people's work, never work yourself.

I live in California, but I can't do this because #1, I don't have a digital camera, #2, what, am I supposed to ask the business to log into the internet to verify the information I send to google?

If you read the article, I do mention those points. The title of the post is meant to allude to the fact that it's difficult to get a job with Google the usual way and this can provide an alternative means of "working for Google".
Take it with a pinch of salt.

Thanks for the great lead. What is the best way to capitalize on this?

    - Have an ad in the paper "Free Local Google Listing. call #"? Which ad section?

    - Have a high school student do this for $5 per verified entry? Have them go to an office building with many local offices to do a lot at once? They would enter the information on their wi-fi laptop or the business's compter and get the phone confirmation from Google right then and there.

What are some other great ideas?
