Google will not show ads on Content Network after 1 year of taking our money

    Hey All,
We run a male enhancement website and have sold products almost exclusively through Google Adwords Content Network from July 08-August 09 when Google suddenly changed and stopped showing our ads on the Content Network. There is a diagram of a penis on one of the pages of our site, but other than that no adult content. It is, however, an adult product. Still we went from 80-100,000 impresions a day to about 2. We want back on the content network. What can we do? Please tell me it isn't hopeless. I don't want skynet to win again.
    Thanks for any suggestions

Well, firstly, have you contacted Google? They should tell you what happened and what (if anything) you can do about it.

Secondly, I take it "male enhancement" is a euphemism for "penis enlargement" (though ignore this paragraph if not). If so, it is likely Google have slapped you while manually reviewing their advertisers. Penis enlargement is generally associated with spam, and may fall foul of Google's policy against sites which are misleading or make unverifiable claims. I don't know if your site is legit, but Google might just assume all such sites are not. In which case, nothing you can do.

Google told us there was nothing we could do because of our business model and called us a 'low quality affiliate". This is the gist of what they said:

"Due to multiple complaints from our users and publishers, we've limited
the appearance of certain categories of ads on our content network, which
may have affected your number of impressions. This includes (but is not
limited to) low-quality affiliate advertisements and other business models
that we have received multiple complaints about."

Then a week later the ads were running again. They were running better than normal(more impressions, lower CPC), then they suddenly stopped again. They sent us a repeat of the last email and stopped taking our calls.

Why was it OK for a year then suddenly not. Can we change the website and url and do it all over again or will skynet ban us forever.

Google do periodic manual reviews of al landing pages, which takes a huge amount of time. Their policies also change in light of new laws, or complaints.

So, it is possible that for a year your site slipped under the radar. Then once these new complaints came in, they decided to remove certain kinds of site they found during the next round of manual reviews.

You could try changing the URL and website, but Google will just slap that as soon as it finds out about, which wouldn't be long.

Google has been on the warpath lately in certain niches (weightloss, miracles cures, solar energy, etc.) and this is one of them. I don't mean to be blunt but there is not much you can do as far as PPC in Google regarding advertising this niche. Once they have their mind set, they are pretty stubborn, since it is their playground. :)

I will say this, if you try and create another account and do the same program they WILL find you and ban you completely.

You still have the SEO option.

    Good luck!
