When I do a site:mydomain search it shows 1,500 indexed pages when i do a site*.mydomain search it show 150 indexed pages. Sub domain show in both results, and I can't see a difference cause all sections are indexed. Can some explain how the wildcard entry in this search query works?
check http://www.google.com/support/websearch/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=136861 "site*.mydomain" doesn't make much sense to check indexed pages
Yeah that page is pretty useful. Yeah I agree and i don't intend to use is for indexing, I'm just curious what it actually omits.
