I just did a query on google.com today using site:www.mysite.com and was so shocked to see that 98% of my site pages were deindexed and went to supplemental results. Is Google doing an update on something? Anyone experienced this?

I am not so sure that it happens to me today but I just checked my site too and noticed several pages are considered as supplimental!

    Tatiana,

I think Google is dumping sites in the supplementals to free up the main index.

Get external deep links into the excluded pages. I'd also suggest trying a few outbounds.

Geezzzz. Is this kind of change permanent now? It shows that i have 45,000 indexed pages. but then on the SERPs, there are only 4 links displayed now. All the rest is in the supplemental results!

The DP Keyword Tracker shows a big drop in rank of several of my sites. Yesterday #1 in the SERPS, today number zilch. They have been stable until today.

Yes, we do have affiliate links on our page. I was thinking that maybe there's a need to put a nofollow on the affiliate links.

What you said is correct. Getting external links to the pages omitted by google will do some good.

As with everything else, it's a case of not worrying too much and trying to do all you can to get your pages back into the main index. Deep links are definitely the way to go as someone else suggested.

But if you're not seeing a drop in Google traffic, then I wouldn't worry too much about this kind of thing.
