Google Webmaster's tools shows my sites as unverified

I logged in to my webmaster's tools to discover all my sites (hosted on different servers, domains at different registrars) show unverified status. I'm getting this error message:

Verification status: NOT VERIFIED
Last attempt Apr 28, 2007: We encountered an error looking up your site's domain name.

Is this because of the PR update or i should start to worry?

 

no, its not cuz a pr update.. it's because you need to varify your site

nothing to worry about IMO unless you want to track your site using google tools

 

This is just what i indended to do, to check my backlinks.

Is anyone else experiencing the same behaviour?

 

Verification is done by uploading a randomly named .html file.

When you click verify, choose verification via file upload, create an empty file, copy/paste the name requested by Google, and upload it to your site's root folder.
Then, ask for verification. Its is done immediately, no need to wait for a spider or anything.

but in fact they were all long verified, and now all of a sudden i'm getting this error.

 

This has happened to us, same story except we use the meta-tag verification method. It has occured occasionally, but has resolved itself within a day or two.

 

Could it be because of after you verified and then took the code off/away? If i recalled correctly, you should maintained the Google code always. I do though, just to make sure.

 

yes, all files have stayed in place

 

as soon as I verified I removed the code and I had no problems

 

in the past the same problem because the error page dont give a 404 code back.

 

its happening to me too, page is accessable and i get the error dns error.

Its on googles end.

Just logged in and all my sites show verified status again. Looks like it was a temporary issue

 

same here, 98% of my sites are unverified now, they worked well.

Now I can't verify them again, couple of days ago I could for some of them, but for other I can't do now. The random file is online, I click the link provided by G and it works, but does not verify

 

I have a problem with mine.

It says that it is all verified (with the tick)

And when I go to select the domain i want results displayed as (with www. or not with the www.) it comes up with site verification error...

 

Yep same here, my site has been verified for a long time and when I logged in today it says it is not verified.
