Google Webmasters tool question

    in the top keywords of my site, one of them is "gif".
    this is because the emoticons my blog uses. does this affect my ranking in search engines?

    Unless it returns any error on notification on indexing your site, it will not affect your rankings.

    No. You shouldnt bother about it as it wont affect the ranking...

    Hi diego018,
    It happens and you need not bother at all.Once I made lot of posts in my blog in a July month.My blogger theme used to add the date of posting to every post I make.And it appeared so for more than 20 times that month( since I made that many posts). And when I checked my webmaster tools i was surprised to see July was one of the keywords in my site :p

    what could be the use of that tool then?

    would it be important that my top keywords are related to the keywords that send me traffic ?

    Its only used to know the keyword density within your site and it makes no sense in the search engine scenerio.Meaning that if "gif" is one your site's keywords it only means that the keyword gif is used many times inside your site and not necessary that your site will be listed on top when people search for "gif".

    it will not.but it might change your keywords density of the page. Change you image alt
