Google Webmaster Tools

    Hi,

    I use google webmaster tools ...in the tools there's a Tab which says: Statistics and under this there's a sub-tab which says: Query Stats

    in the Query stats page it shows "Top search queries" and "Average top position" and for me it shows that for a specific keyword my website has the avegare top position of 43. What does this means ?

    It is/was the position in the SERP for those keywords (at the time of the crawl and display of this data). This will change over time.

    Hi,

    So it means that my website was on 43 page for the specific keyword. Hmm that is quite nice :)

    I don't understand why that's "quite nice". Sounds like a shite position, if you ask me. :p

    It means you're in top 43 sites for your keywords.

    Lets say your keyword is "Carols for Christmas".

    It means that 42 other sites are ahead of you for that search term.

    However, if you go to google and use the keyword, you won't find your site at that position. Well, that's my case. Anybody with the same problem?
