Google Webmaster Tools - Reliability

Okay, I've heard it's good practise to view a sites 'Top Search Queries' and focus on those keywords.

However, I wondered - how reliable are those search queries - and are they as up to date as the rest of WMT info (ie. not very)? Also, should I concentrate on top search queries as well as top clicked queries?

    Thanks!

Top Search Queries = SERPs you appears in rankings.
Top Clicked Queries = SERPs you recieve traffic from.

This data is the most accurate you can get, I would concentrate on your top search queries that aren't recieving hits but get a decent search volume per month. You can compare volumes at http://trends.google.com

Analytics might monitor more realtime than the webmaster central, but webmaster central data is probably connected to back-end data.

Great, thanks for all your points. Now I need to work out how to set up Analytics. I created an account, registered my site - put it all the site details etc, came back to Analytics about a week later, and it claimed I had only received 2 visits that entire week, one one the first day, another on the second day, then no more hits. Strange, as we received more orders than that, and our webstats show we get over 10000 hits a week. Anyway, I was wondering if someone with Analytic know-how can either set it up for me or help me get it set up *properly* -cause I can't seem to get it to work efficiently. Thank

    Hey.

Yes, I did add it to all the pages. But it made page loading times increase by around 80%, best to keep visitors happy than know why the visitors are there in my view anyway.

We also have http://www.cupargardencentre.com registered and currently in use - although it has very little backlinks and has completely seperate content to our main site in my signature. If you visit my sig link, would you say it would be best to remove all the pages regarding what products/services we sell from the .co.uk site, make the shop front page (http://www.cupargardencentre.co.uk/acatalog/) our main sites homepage, and set up 301 redirects to each individual services page (eg. cuisine eccosse, events, furniture, landscaping etc) to the new page hosted at the .com version? Obviously both sites would have completely different content.

    Your reviews are much appreciated!

(And hopefully that ramble makes the slightest bit of sense)
