Hi, I am confused about some basic concepts in link building, can you please explain. 1. I know that if I add my link on some high PR sites but it is a no follow then it will not be a back link but does search engines still gives any value to a link that is on a high PR site. 2. If I have an active account on a well known site like github and I add my site link suppose that is dofollow, Why I cannot see these links in Google webmaster tools "Links to you site" I can only see links from site where I shared my content like pintrest, bitly or paper.li etc but links on some well known sites are not shown yet. 3. Links to your site are only dofollow links? 4. If i added my site in a directory like dmoz a week ago, but cannot see when I search?
It takes time to see result on the SERP. If a link is nofolllow, It does not means that google doesn't index it but the link juice provide the the backlink is so negligible that the backlink have minimum value. thats a googd strategist always prefer the dofollow link but we have to maintain the ratio.
Search engines like Google presently count link as a vote. It has some SEO value whether it is no-follow or do-follow. You need do-follow links and no-follow links.
