Google Webmaster Tool Help

Hi,
I need help with Google Webmaster Tool. There's a globe icon next to a website's URL. What does that mean?



Some of my sites have it and some don't. They all used to have it and one of the site is now of a sudden missing that icon. Please help.

I think its just a hyperlink icons going to your site... Its been there for a long time.

 

They are favicon.ico icons. Some of your sites apparently use or have them, and others do not. You can make a favicon.ico and upload it to your site like yoursite . com / favicon . ico for example. A lot of browsers will pick it up automatically if it is there. You can also add it to the header of your script or site to ensure other browsers pick it up. Not important, but some people like them for extra visual next to the address bar. Then they will show up in that area of webmaster tools.

 

yah i think that's favicon.. you can saw on the adress bar of a browser when you visit a site..

 

I think it is hyperlink icons and it mean that you have verify your site with Google.

 

I thought it meant your site was on the internet and can be seen around the world.

Doesn't mean that much. Just an icon

 

Its the icon that your website is using. If you don't have a .ico file (It won't show ith .png in webmaster tools) als website icon then you will have a globe icon.
