People who already know the basics are fine without but its a good way to start learning SEO.

 

I never really had visited the google webmaster guide section to check some updates. Good thing you brought it on the notice board. I was thinking though if google also had taken a big shift of their way to algorithmically arrange the site listings on their results pages.
