Hi all

In google webmasters where it displays all the keywords on your page from highest to lowest, my main keyword isnt on there at all although it features a lot on all my pages? it doesnt even say it appears at least once? any reason why this could be.

The word is 'free' and as you can see from my site in my sig it does feature at least 10 times on the main page (sorry not trying to spam)

Please help!!

thanks

I've just had a quick look at the site, free is your most common keyword, with 24 repeats and a density of 5.84%.

Not sure why its not showing up in WMT though, seems strange.

Easy fix,

The Url at the bottom (footer) of every single page:
Copyright © 2010 freebeat.info. All rights reserved. Design by Free CSS Templates.
Code (markup):
Change it so that only the the part of the anchor text that reads free is actually the anchor-text.

So it will look like this:
Copyright © 2010 freebeat.info. All rights reserved. Design by Free CSS Templates.
Code (markup):

The finished HTML would be something like this:
<p>Copyright © 2010 <a href="http://www.freebeat.info">free</a>beat.info.
All rights reserved. Design by <a href="http://www.freecsstemplates.org/">Free CSS Templates</a>.</p>
Code (markup):
All the free anchor text you have on your blog are long-tail keywords.

If you change that Index page URL anchor-text in the Footer, the short-tail keyword (free) will be on every single page/post of your blog.

Change that anchor text, then do a couple of blog post & see what happens in Google Webmaster Tools keywords results.

Hi Budster,

Google shows these keywords in webmasters to tell you that keywords are how often it's found on your site's pages not just homepage. It calculates from all the pages of the website not just homepage.

Also, Google sometimes exclude common words and don't show it on keyword list.

If you are concerned that your other pages also have this word on all the pages and still Google not recognizing it then there is might be chances that Google not able to crawl your full website. Hence, try to submit your sitemap in Google so that it will crawl and index all pages of the website.

I hope this help.

The Keywords list will sometimes exclude words that we determine to be common words like 'free'. This varies from site to site. The Keywords list is a starting point to see how Google is interpreting your site's content. This list should be evaluated in tandem with what's listed in the Top Search Queries report for your site as well as how your site appears in the actual search results for the keywords you're targeting.

True, the guys at the top didn't get their by luck, it takes a lot of work.

If it was my site, I would change the Footer URL to the Index page with the keyword Free.

Get the keyword Free at 100% in your Google Webmaster Tools keyword, then focus on a handful of mid-tail & long-tail keywords that include the keyword Free.

Find the weakest competitions site, out of the top 10 sites in the SERPs for your mid-tail keywords & focus on getting in the top 10 (page #1).

It won't happen overnight, but it can be done...

free is a totally different key word that "free stuff" "free junk" "free dogs" etc.......

ranking for 1 keyword is not going to help you rank for another longer one, it's actually the opposite. Ranking for long tail keyword could eventually help you get ranked for shorter keywords like "buy my free crap" could possibly rank for "buy my crap" if there were very little competition. The word free has 3.1 billion competing pages on Google. You will NEVER rank anywhere for that.

most people on this forum have no clue what they are talking about when it comes to SEO

I'm not sure how well that Adsense is working for you on your Index page.

If your not making much with that Adsense Ad, you might try to make the Adsense Ads colors (links, text, Titles, background) the same as your blog post/links colors.

If the Ads blend in with your blogs colors, you might get higher click-thru.

LOL, I think the idea was to associate his blog with the keyword, not be on page #1 in the SERPs for a single keyword (Free).

My faith in Google Webmaster is really fading. I find that most of the stats it reports are very old and outdated. For instance, the keywords people are using to get to my site are entirely different on Analytics as they are on Webmaster. Webmaster also takes AGES to update its information - it's just as bad as the first year it came out.
