Google Web Site Optimizer and Search Engine Caching

    Here is my question:

Does Google Web Site Optimizer affect how various search engines cache/index your page? Will the search engines possibly have two versions of the same page cached?

    Here is the explanation:

I just finished watching a web seminar on Google Web Site Optimizer. It is basically a system that allows you to test different variations of specific web pages to see which version will best convert your traffic.

    http://services.google.com/websiteoptimizer/

The web seminar can be found here.

Simply put, by adding specific Javascript tags to the page that you want to test, Google will serve up different versions (that you create) of your page. If you are testing two versions of a page, half of the people that visit that page will see one version, and the other half will see another version. You can then use information gathered by Google to see which version converts better.

    Thanks!

Thanks for posting this. I have never heard about this before, but have just watched the seminar, and it does seem very interesting.
