I'm pretty sure the big G does use the information for thier own needs, like the toolbar.

I've tried it before and to be honest, it doesn't feel faster, just makes you think it's faster

It definately offers speed increases for me, far better then alot of these optimization softwares which i have tried probably every one out there.

This is my current stats, however it would be triple that as i have reset it 3 times now...

What proof do you have that those data are solid information? What if they are just calculated and displayed to make you think what Google wants and to make you use this tool ? That is what I "feer"

I always wondered how these accelerator things made a 56k pipe expand its circumference to speed up all the bytes and bits.

    I'm glad you asked.

Back when i first toyed with this, i installed a third party page load timer script in my browser along with an auto clicker to reaload the page.

I done 1,000 page loads of the same page with and without the Google accellerator, and the statistics correspond to what Google shows.

It doesn't, please read what it's all about on the Google page. It doesn't make "the pipe bigger" it's all about optimizing the information exchange between your browser and the server.

As for Accellerator Software, it works by adjusting things like MTU, packets etc to the optimal settings for your connection. Or in other words making what you have more effecient at doing it's job.

Do you have the google toolbar with pagerank data? Then google already knows the sites you visit. You don't have to worry, I'm sure google doesnt care about what sites you visit much... And for injected content, can you imagine the uproar and hatred once word got out? Google wont risk it.
