Holy hell we agree on something....

It seems almost an obsession with them and they collect more and more....heres the question..

"all the information" Well does that include misinformation?? Such as anything G Bush has put out there??

Once they have it all then what the hell will they do with it?

How long can they refuse requests from the government before being forced to turn over user data?? (Thank some entity G Bush cannot be relected)

How soon before the first antitrust suit comes to Googles door???

    Peace

Email that you delete on gmail, you can no longer see, but it reamains available and can be viewed internally.

Why? For what purpose? How come they save it at all after you delete it?

That's one big reason to fear google, or any service that practices similar "storage" methods.

What about the proposed, although speculated, G drive? I bet that will have similar you can delete it, but we're gonna keep it clauses attached. For what purpose do they need to save your trash?

What about the storage of online app data? Some are applauding this, others realize, this will be a privacy nightmare. What company is so damn cheap they can't afford a local copy of a word processor or spreadsheet? What if they make a speardsheet or document that is about you and something personal in it about you turns out to be false later, but the information remains available to google and is used against you one day because they only have half the story?

Google plays big bother worse then the goverment!

Why did or does AOL save search queries and corrolate that back to a user? What purpose could that serve?

Won't googles storage of your personal email and or data, although deleted, be directly corrolated back to you? Why?

People are up in arms over the fact the goverment is putting up cameras to catch speeders and red light runners. Yet, people will give google personal information without bating an eyelash.

    Wake Up!

If I am not mistaken and someone will correct me if I am

In the USA it is a law that all ISPs must keep e-mails stored in archives for government access.

Since Google offers a mail servcice they fall under this law as well as Yahoo Msn Verizon Comcast Epix and any other ISP / Website in the USA that offers email services.

No conspiracy here....just good ole law.

As for people being up in arms over cameras to police highways...if you look in Philadelphia PA the number of people hit & run is outlandish.

Germany has used cameras on the Autobahn since the late 1970s to help police the highways..

Now you need to ask yourself if a relative was hit by somone who ran a red light would you like a camera to be able to show you who the responsible party is or would you be happy if they were never caught????

I hope nothing like the above befalls you but people usually are for or against something till it effects them personally,,,then their views seem to change...

    Peace

They keep information because according to Database theory and practice, one should never delete data for auditing purposes.

In other words to prevent abuse. If you have time people, you should read about databases, it is a complex topic and interesting

I said, "any free service". There are many many ways to circumvent your so called Law. I have to research your assesments before I comment because I think your are largely incorrect.

More to follow. But I gotta ask, to what advantage is it to you to support this crap?

I've not seen any issues w/ my site...it has been in the top of the results for the last few years. Not really seen any change at all (I am in a very niche market). However, I am not seeing good results in other searches. Using Yahoo much more often now.

I do not see you mention free services...you specified Google.

Next where do you see my saying I supported anything?

I simply stated its a law here...nothing else.

As for your circumventing the laws thats all well and good.... till your caught and then sleeping on your back so bubba doesnt get to it in jail.....

    Have fun with that

no need to respond the reply you gave shows me this is a dead end

besides its off topic... I could care less what anyone does with my email only an idiot posts anything that could harm them online.....

    Peace
