One difference is that google uses PR in its algorithm, whereas Yahoo does not Also there are different effects for tags such as title, h1, h2, bold etc.
Google doesn't use PR in its algorithm, PR is an indicator of number of backlinks. For ranking, google place more weight on backlinks, that means how popular you are, while for yahoo, more weight on page optimization. Others, yahoo was ever popular due to its searching function, but its founders overlook the market of searching, while google foresaw the market of searching, that's the reason of yahoo and google today.
Google's spider is more stronger, there fore it relies maximum on no. of external links to your site. But yahoo gives more importance to content of the page. In general it is easier for a new site to rank well in yahoo for a new site
google gives us good facilities such as PR whereas yahoo doesnt giv....and we have many back drops on yahoo.....the results obtained in google are very fast than in the yahoo
Yeah, this is incorrect. Google does use pr in it's algo. The main difference I see in the two is that google crawls deeper and faster through a site and sees changes alot quicker as well. Google also updates it rankings more often than yahoo. Yahoo is slow and imo does not really return relevant results.
I've found this aswell... its not just about internal links and their anchor text with yahoo, which is probably a good thing... but harder to rig your rankings
On page SEO has a bigger impact in Yahoo. But its really irellevant. You do all you can and that should work for both engines. However I have noticed that Yahoo sends customers and Google sends surfers.
apart from PR factor, i think on page factors plays an important role in yahoo optimization than the off page factors.
I created my blog (the one on my signature) on 1/23. I submitted the site to a few directories and placed it on my signature. On 1/26, it was indexed and ranked fairly well for my keywords. As of 1/27, my blog isn't indexed anymore on Google. Does anyone know why?
