Google vs Yahoo which is better ?

I want to know your guys comments on best search engine. My personnel feeling is Google is the best. But is there anything superior in Yahoo than Google?

 

Yahoo is better for searching news and videos.

 

Needless to discuss. Google.

 

Obviously Google ! Its better search engine than any other.

 

If you are trying to know which one has better traffic, then it is obviously Google....but if you want to compare the search quality, I do not think there is much of a difference between the two....

Google sends waaaaay more traffic than Yahoo does.

both are same. but for some thing they are different from each other. like in google you get so many resource for your problem. but in yahoo you get quality information but less resource.

Google has more traffic ? Okay, if you just look at the statistics saying that 70% are using Google and only 19% are using Yahoo!, then read this .

Most of the websites are more optimized for Google than for Yahoo! .

Why ?

Well, every webmaster doesn't use the keywords meta-tag because "it's deprecated" . So that means that a very little number of websites are optimized for Yahoo! , because it uses the keywords meta-tag that most of the webmasters don't even use .

Most webmasters also don't do good on-page optimization ( I mean, content before everything in the HTML structure to give the words more importance on Yahoo!, also links get good weight if they are higher ) .

So it's normal if the sites are getting more traffic from Google than from Yahoo!, because they are more optimized for Google than for Yahoo! .

The second point is that the statistics use the results from a specific web analytics software, so the websites which use other web analytics softwares are excluded . And if the software is a javascript code, then also those users who disable javascript support are also excluded .

I'm pretty sure Yahoo! has at least 30% or even 40%, why ?

Did you see their very large community ? Yahoo Answers, Yahoo mail, Yahoo messenger, Yahoo news etc... and on the top of every page is a Yahoo! Search box .

And guess what ? One at SearchEngineJournal has 200 uniques a day only from Yahoo! and Live Search .

Finally, yes, the statistics are cheated

 

thats interesting, well i kind of think the same, i mean does these companies which analise search engine usage, do they count the searches done seo software ?

 

It's like if you do a test with 10 guys . You ask them to eat as many spaghetti as they can . They will do it easily as they are prepared for that
But they will fail at, for example, eating fish as they aren't prepared for that .

That's the same with the search engines, you CAN'T do a test if the majority of the websites are more optimized for Google and don't even care of Yahoo! .

Yahoo search is good, but not as good as google

 

It depends who you are. When I am searching for something, I go for yahoo, but when it comes to bring traffic to my websites, Google is the king. Is hard to make serious money just with yahoo.

 

In general Google drives much more traffic of course, but Yahoo still offers traffic which is useful for some keywords

 

yahoo link is better. than google links. foe seo. yahoo YUI is better then gquery. yahoo forums are amazing, while google forum suck and so google search.

 

For search Engine and Traffic the Google is Better then The Yahoo.

Google ! Google ! Google! It is the main search engine. I found what I want in google, not in Yahoo or MSN or other search engines.
