I'm thinking of moving onto Yahoo's PPC program (or possibly using it along with Google). I know this is the Google forum (I use Google so decided to post in this forum), but I'm just wondering if anyone else has tried it or are using both. My main interest is the difference in Headline Characters. Google as we all know allows 35 while Yahoo allows 40. Does anyone think the 5 character difference in the headline is worth it? I'm not worried over budget as I don't pay for my Adwords, I just don't want the extra hassle of running more campaigns with another account if it's not worth it. Any advice appreciated
I've had good luck for some clients with Yahoo PPC, and some not so good. I use Google Analytics to compare both campaigns and change budgets accordingly. It is more work, but not much. You can copy your Adwords campaign with the Adwords Editor and upload it to Yahoo. Test ads with longer headlines and eventually you will make good use of them.
I use Google and Yahoo. I've found some terms convert well on google, but not Yahoo, and vice versa. Depending on how much time you want to spend on it, Yahoo can be a good source of sales, but the volume is nowhere near what Google gets. I copied my ads over from Google but I was too lazy to change any titles for the 5 character extra limit.
Google adwords is defiantly preferred by a lot of people, by using both it allows you to increase the amount of visitors and your no longer restricted to visitors from just one network. Make sure to use a coupon when you signup and get yourself $100 free advertising
I've used both, and I prefer google. I never really liked the yahoo setup and the volume was pitiful.
yahoo is a completely different audience and performs much differently from google. All I can say is try it, but if your hoping to move from google to yahoo to get a magical solution, its probably not going to happen. Yahoo traffic volume is much much less and can at many times cost just as much per conv
Google is where the traffic is and traffic is worth it. Go with google and expand to yahoo. Good luck. -Patz
It never hurts to test new things out. Go with them both, you never know which ones will give you a better margin with the different stuff you're promoting.
Thanks for all the advice guys. My Google campaigns are running fine, cost free and generating traffic, I'm just always looking for more. Not sure if I want to expand to Yahoo for the same amount of effort as Google Adwords with a much lower traffic flow. I've got a free voucher so I'll give it a test run and let you all know how I get on
Yahoo converts better than adwords but cost slightly more. test your campaign and you will know how it works.
Yahoo ppc has lack of tools for advertisers than adwords. I mean you have less control on your ads when you advertise at Yahoo overture.
