hey ppl thanks for contributing to this thread But u know if you look at the threads... almost all the points are similar and well known to every one. We need to contribute more and at the same time... we need to have an "out of box" thinking in this... In total 200 factors... we can say around 15 to 20 we know. but the rest is the challenging Job?
1. domain age 2. ip for the domain (bad neighbourhoods) That's must be something else. just like the backlinks, and so on..
I think sites that have held a previous high SERP are likely to stay at the top. I optimized a page 8 years ago and sold it to someone who completely ruined it and it is still #4 in google for a term that is searched for 50,000 times per month. The page now even has a pagerank of 0. It was #1 after I optimized it and it held that postion for the entire time I had it (about 2 years).
When will the page rank topics end? Page rank is NOT important! A Pr 0 can rank on the top page of google.
How long the domain is renewed for. ie. 1 year domain is more likely spam than a domain this is renewed for 5 years.
hey vlm...its a nice thread but if you could list all the factors contributed by members up till now, in one post...then it will be better for those who are new to this thread...in fact it should be done periodically to make it last long
Hi ..... Fine i guess the thread goes interesting, our fellow member MARK asked to summarize the thread... Below are the contributions which happened so far in this thread ...and the strange thing is we have identified only 17 PAGE RANK SITE MAP NAVIGATION WEBSITE HIERARCHY PRIVACY POLICY - PAGE ABOUT US - PAGE Bounce Rate <div> tags backlinks domain age ip for the domain Broken links Page Performance - Load time meta tags outgoing links most important unique quality contents Frequent updates
Some of the factors are related to alogritham and reading and calculating that is a tough job. As you have mentioned 25 these are common which webmasters can perform rest are determined by Google and Google Bot. Sometimes its weird as well because I see some of the website without any backlinks on 1st page. I would say CONTENT is the keyword.
Something to add to the list Title Tag of the Page Put keywords in Headings Put keywords in ALT tags Use a robots.txt file Validate your HTML for brocken codes Not coming to mind anything more now.
PR is determind by TWO factors! The number of inbound links and their respectiv PR - nothing else. Ranking positions are determined by about 200 factors, but that's quite a different issue.
The main focus of webmasters for building their PR is building backlinks and boosting traffic, but having keyword rich content is a very good thing.
