Here are some stats I just found http://www.crn.com/software/218102305;jsessionid=G3DFLROFQFNUKQSNDLRSKHSCJUNN2JVN According to these Bing still has a long way to go to match Google but they are getting pretty close to Yahoo.
Bing is growing fast. I think it looks better than google. And they absolutly use very different algorithms. Try to search the same thing in both of them and you'll see different results
Google receive a hell of a lot more traffic, but Bing is easier to spam. It depends on what you are going for.
Maybe it will take some time but Bing has really huge chance to bit Google. Right now we all mostly use Google and our SEO goes with words spoken by Google but wouldn't world be more interesting place if some search engine would bit it?
Bing has a very long way to go before it beats Google. Google is still the leading search engine in the web
Right now - NO, bing can not compete with the big players. And that is because bing is having problems indexing large sites. I have seen forums with over 70,000 threads and 800,000 urls, and bing only has 3,000 urls indexed. Until bing starts indexing more pages, it is not going to be able to compete in the long run. Google offer adsense - so people have a financial reason to use google. The MSN ad center is still in beta testing. When you start talking money, people listen. And there are lots of people making money from google adense. Its going to be a long, long time before bing can compete with google.
One of my sites ranks nr 1 on both Google and Bing for a keyword: Results: I get 4000 uniques from Google and 150 from Bing So for the time being I am ignoring Bing Note - this is uk focussed site, so not sure if a us focussed site would see the same results
but bing is indexing pages very fast. what about that? Google taking much time especially for the newbie websites.
I think Bing has a good chance of gaining some ground on Google. Bing looks more attractive and seems to have a pretty good algorithm now. Also, since they now have a partnership with Yahoo, they stand to gain even more ground. I dont think they will make any major impact on Google for a while, but I would say in the next 3-5 years they will make significant gains in the search market.
Bing might come along and surprise Google in about 10 years, but I think Google is safe for at least a few years. They are so dominant, it will take a giant to knock them down. Don't count Microsoft out!
For me bing or yahoo just don't seem to work and google still attracts more people. It like 100 from google and 2 through yahoo/bing
i definitely prefer GOOGLE on Bing. Google is still catching more people and serving best than any other SE.
