Hey everyone It seems there is a new patent application that has been released in which Google has sought application for a voice enabled search engine so to speak. Basically any device with a microphone will be able to connect with Google Voice Search and receive spoken results, or even SMS message of the results. Feel free to read my blog post about it here http://www.mediaviper.com/ I would welcome comments on how you might use the technology.
What would be the used of this? I'm sure it would be useful for the blind... but honestly I'd stick to typing out my searches Neat new technology though..
Voice Browsing will be part of Browsers soon. The Search was just something waiting to happen. Opera has had Voice Browsing and even has tutorials on "Markup to integrate speech technology with Web pages." @ http://dev.opera.com/articles/voice/ I like the fact that they have you talk WITH the browser as their methodology - http://www.opera.com/products/desktop/voice/
Ever heard of a search engine capable of finding specific words or sentences in audio recording? Now that would be interesting.....
It might be hard to use coz people got a different accent and intonation. wanna know how Google will overcome those problem.
And does it search in voices and sound files? If not, then this is useless for the most of the people.
