Google violates my privacy and knows way too much about me & you

I was watching a youtube video the other day and the man doing the video was using the new Google Chrome browser in conjunction with a packet sniffer program.

Every keystroke he typed into the Chrome browser was being immediately sent back to google. He showed this by zooming in on the packet sniffer while he typed.

He explained in the video (sorry I don't have it bookmarked), that even if you turn off certain features (for or to enable privacy settings) that even though you do that, google still gets sent your keystrokes.

You know, here's what gets me...

Yes, we live in an information age. I get all of that as I'm sure most of you fellow marketers do too. I can accept that part of it. But, what I don't accept is that when you put privacy buttons in place, and people click them... to find out, as I did in this video, that it doens't even matter - that your data is still being sent to the biggest faceless corporation in the world... that really bothers me.

There have been documented cases where google and the other big seo co's either are forced, or cooperate with any governmental agency upon request.

They just hand over all their stored information.

Google is trying to take over the world.

Then, just a couple of days ago I read an article that said google is looking into neural transmission. That somehow this new technology is up and coming and they want to put into place some type of new gizmo that's going to allow them to see what we're thinking by way of neural technology (to provide more relevant searches???)

To me, that's going across the line. I could go on and on about this but I'm sure you get my point.

The Privacy Act was put into place so that there would be restrictions on the way a person was violated etc...

Google violates our privacy. They are getting too big for their corporate britches... and I think it would be nice if there was some real competition in their marketplace.

Yahoo is about the only other major search engine. I have never personally used MSN search for anything... it's like that mystery page that pops up after I sign out of hotmail... lol

Anyways, this is just my two cents on google.

Yes, I know they have their good side too as far as certain technologies go... but think about it...

They keep changing their search engine algorhythm and people's sites that once were seo optimized suddenly disappear from the top searches. They're just toying with us... treating us like pawns in their big worldwide domination game. And then, of course, they want us all to be their googlebots once they can develop this neuron technology to search our brainwaves for us...

Get real Google. It just ticks me off. Thanks for listening.

EDIT: This is on the cover of drudgereport.com right now:

I agree with you. Google is a monopoly, plain and simple. Yahoo isn't even trying to stay in the game anymore - they're in the midst of huge layoffs and their ad revenue program never earned as much for them as Google's paid ads did for them. I was actually excited when Bill Gates tried to buy Yahoo because since MSN's search is pretty useless, but Bill has the money to make Yahoo better and combine the two services, something cool could happen with Google actually having a real competitor.

Sadly though most people will probably continue to use Google and meanwhile they keep changing things to make SEO continually difficult so webmasters must resort to using paid ads if they want traffic. Remember the glory days when you could spend .05 to get a click? Now the minimum for any decent niches is at least .30 if you want to be on the first page. This makes so many merchants impossible to promote because you're not earning big enough commissions to justify the expense.

    Google sucks.

And don't get me started on their "Street view" feature. YUCK!

I'm not really sure why it's still trying to update your pc. I would suggest making sure all the root folders and maybe any registry entries were also deleted. It's technical stuff but that way you would more than likely be getting rid of the entire application off of your pc.

So many people are going to use Google Chrome and all their info is going to be transmitted to big G. It's sad really so many people don't know.

They work hand in hand with the government now... and who's to say that someone else might use your pc and look at something they shouldn't and it gets tracked back to you somehow... when the G hammer comes crashing down.

I personally think, as Americans, we need to start standing up more for privacy rights IMO. Corporations like Google are getting away with this because people don't stop using their products and or services.

    Boycott?
