Does google treat subdomain as a different primary domain OR does the main domain influence subdomain?

like sub.example.com and example.com. Are these two compelety different?

It treats them differently. If you do it right, you can see a couple different subdomains show up on a search. It really works well with Bing & Yahoo too

In my own experiences, sub domains would be treated by search engines just as a sub catalog on your homepage of your main domain.

    Have a nice day,

A sub domain is like having an entirely separate domain name, it has no ties to the root domain.

Just think of blogspot.com as an example.
Every blog is a subdomain to blogspot.

If you have links from main domain to subdomain than you will pass PR to subdomain.
Subdomains come nicely in searches on different keywords.

Yes, as far as I know. If I'm not wrong then there is a big discussion thread on forum on this topic. Make a search and go through it.
